O'Reilly publishes Jupyter Notebooks

by Kristian Rother last modified Jun 27, 2016 11:15 PM
Jupyter notebooks are popular for data analysis, education and to exchange working, documented code. Now O'Reilly intends to elevate the notebook format to a publishing platform.

The Jupyter notebook format is being experimented with as a publishing platform on eye level with MS Word or the less well-known Atlas platform. To publish notebooks, they are converted to Markdown format using ipymd, and Docker containers take care of the underlying (Python or other) environment. O'Reilly invites developers to contribute their ideas and content.
